The manufacturing base east of Dallas

Garland

Garland calls itself one of the largest manufacturing centers in Texas, with more than 300 manufacturers. Workforce training comes through Garland ISD, Dallas College and the Dallas County Manufacturers Association.

Rockwall and Royse City

The Rockwall Technology Park is a 550-acre park on I-30 developed by the Rockwall EDC. It's home to companies in defense, energy, metals, packaging and baked goods. Royse City sits on I-30 and Hwy 66 between Dallas and Greenville. It is home to a growing group of manufacturers, machine shops and fabricators, and its Community Development Corporation offers incentives to companies that locate there.

Terrell and Kaufman County

Terrell's EDC runs two business parks. The Airport Business Park covers 150 acres at I-20, US 80 and SH 34, with tenants like Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope and Madix. The Mike Cronin Business Park covers more than 600 acres with rail service, and its tenants include Nucor, VEKA and Carlisle Construction Materials.

Why fractional works on the east side of DFW

Experienced operations leaders are in demand across the metroplex, and a full-time Director of Operations is a big commitment for a 40- or 120-person company. A fractional Director of Operations gives you senior leadership on a set day or two each week. You get a clear 90-day plan from the two-week assessment, the KPIs and schedule to run on, and a team trained to keep it going.

Work runs as a fractional Director of Operations retainer, a fixed-price sprint, lean manufacturing work on one area, or AI assistant setup for the office. See starting prices.

Common questions

Do you cover Fort Worth and the west side of DFW?

On-site work is focused on the east side of the metroplex, which is closest to Greenville. Fort Worth and the west side are about an hour and a half or more away, so work there is mostly remote advisory with on-site visits planned in advance.

Do you work with distributors and warehouses, too?

Yes. Distributors and warehouses face the same operations problems as plants: order flow, picking and staging, shipping accuracy, inventory and labor planning.

How is TARS Ops different from the larger Dallas consulting firms?

You work with me directly, on your floor, on a set day each week. The focus is plant and shop operations: scheduling, quality, shipping and the numbers behind them. Pricing is published as starting points, so you know the range before we talk.
