Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County

The Sulphur Springs EDC's list of Hopkins County employers covers a wide range of manufacturing. There are trailers (Load Trail and Temple Trailers), food and dairy (Saputo, Ocean Spray and B.E.F. Foods), windows and doors (JELD-WEN), flow-control products for oil and gas (Flowserve), aerospace (Raven Aerostar), adhesives (J-B Weld) and drainage pipe (Contech). There are also custom steel and aluminum fabricators, plastics and packaging makers.

Paris and Lamar County

The Paris EDC lists Kimberly-Clark (about 700 employees) and Campbell Soup (about 680) among the county's largest employers, along with Huhtamaki, Delco Trailers, Lamar Trailers, American SpiralWeld and local metal fabricators. The PEDC owns more than 500 acres for primary employers, including two industrial parks, the Gene Stallings Business Park and shovel-ready land near Cox Field Airport.

Common operations challenges here

With trailer builders, fabricators and food plants side by side, a few challenges come up again and again in the region's small and mid-size shops. These include scheduling work across welding, paint and assembly; keeping finish quality consistent; planning labor across shifts in a tight labor market; and shipping complete orders on time. These are the problems a fractional Director of Operations works on every week, using lean tools like standard work, 5S, setup reduction and daily KPIs.

How it works from Greenville

Both towns are close enough for a fixed on-site day each week. Mount Pleasant and other towns further east are also reachable by arrangement. Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute call and, usually, the two-week on-site assessment.

Work runs as a fractional Director of Operations retainer, a fixed-price sprint, lean manufacturing work on one area, or AI assistant setup for the office. See starting prices.

Do you work with trailer and fabrication shops?

Yes. Fabrication, welding, paint and assembly shops with a mix of custom and repeat orders are a core fit: scheduling across departments, finish quality, and shipping complete orders on time.
